No, don't do that, it will burn them up. The 10g plates run on a 90W ballast, the 3500 on a 30 watt ballast.
Hi, thanks. What is the electrode metal on the good blue plates? The blue moisture barrier is on top of the wires, or underneath? Bob
The metal is sprayed above the blue lawyer. It helps keep the ceramic cooler. Not sure why they call it moisture resistant - I asked the factory and they said it just provides longer life to the plate, nothing to do with moisture.
I have one of your OG-5000 ForeverOzone 5000 generators. I cannot find replacement plates on your parts page. Are replacement generator plates no longer available?

I have the older model with 2 plates and no fan. How can I tell if the plates are worn out (other than not a strong ozone smell)?
The ozone smell varies depending on humidity. At 90% humidity they won't hardly produce any ozone smell (or produce much ozone). At low humidity they product a strong ozone smell. The way you can tell the ozone plate needs to be replaced is simple. When you observe it in a dark room (while operating) you see that 20-30% of the plate does not light up. When that happens, you know it's time to replace it.
What causes the ozone plate to deteriorate faster than normal? Operating your unit in high humidity. Water and electricity don't mix well, and high humidity can damage the metal component of the ozone plate and cause premature oxidation.
